Privacy policy

What we collect

• Buyers sending a brief: your name, email, the brief text, quantity/material/deadline, and any file you upload.
• Makers applying to list: name, business name, optional ABN, suburb and postcode, processes, machines, materials, sizes, turnaround, delivery options, an "about" blurb, email and optional phone.
• "Notify me" sign-ups: your email, the postcode and process you searched for, kept for up to 12 months or until we have emailed you once.
• Technical: your IP address is used for rate limiting (kept for one hour) and appears in standard Cloudflare edge logs; the country of the request is stored with each enquiry. We set no advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us page-view counts without cookies or personal identifiers. A theme preference and your last postcode may be stored in your own browser (localStorage) for convenience — nothing is sent to us from that.

How we use it

• A buyer's brief, file and email are sent to the one maker they chose, so the maker can quote and reply. A copy of each enquiry is also sent to us so we can support the beta and check for abuse.
• Maker application details (except phone) are published on your listing once approved.
• We may email you about your enquiry or application. We do not sell or rent personal information and we do not send marketing email unless you have separately opted in.

Files

Uploaded files are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure and automatically deleted 30 days after upload. Download links are unguessable and expire with the file. Makers who download your file are independent businesses with their own privacy practices.

Retention and your rights

Enquiry records and uploaded files are kept for 30 days on our servers, then deleted automatically. Maker applications are kept for 90 days while we review them; once approved, the listing details (except phone) stay published until you ask us to remove them. Enquiries held for human review because of a flagged word are deleted if rejected. If an email address is blocked for abuse we keep only a one-way hash of it, until unblocked. Emails already delivered to you and the maker naturally persist in those inboxes. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing [email protected]; we answer within 30 days and there is no charge. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Third parties

Hosting and storage: Cloudflare (Pages, Workers and KV storage). Cloudflare stores and serves data on its global network, so your enquiry and file may be held in data centres outside Australia, including the United States. Email: Zoho Mail, hosted in Zoho's European Union data centres — the enquiry and confirmation emails we send (and copies kept in our mailbox) are processed there. Fonts and all other page assets are served from our own site — no third-party font or script servers see your visit. Postcode locations come from the GeoNames dataset (CC BY 4.0), which is data we bundle with the site; GeoNames receives nothing about you. We do not otherwise disclose personal information overseas, and we do not sell or share it with data brokers or advertisers.
